Wiring & getting started

  1. Check the connector

    Confirm the radio uses IPEX-1 / U.FL. Smaller MHF4-style connectors are not interchangeable.

  2. Power the radio off

    Align the plug squarely and press straight down on the metal shell. Do not lever or rotate the connector.

  3. Choose the mounting area

    Bond the FPC to a clean, dry, non-metallic surface and keep the radiating element clear of metal, carbon fibre, batteries and high-current wiring.

  4. Validate the final installation

    Enclosure materials, cable routing and nearby conductive parts can change antenna performance. Test the complete radio in its finished enclosure.

Note: This is a passive antenna. The transmitter, operating frequency, output power, antenna gain and installation together determine the system's radiated output and compliance. Confirm the complete radio system meets the rules for its intended New Zealand use.

Are these IPEX-1 / U.FL antennas?
Yes. Each antenna has a first-generation IPEX-1 / U.FL cable plug. It does not fit smaller MHF4-style sockets.
Which model should I choose?
Choose by tuning range, available mounting area and nominal gain. A larger antenna is not automatically better inside every enclosure, so test the selected model in the finished assembly.
Can I use one with a New Zealand 915 MHz LoRa radio?
These passive antennas cover model-specific sub-GHz ranges around 915 MHz. Confirm the antenna range, connector and the complete radio system's permitted frequency, output power and EIRP for your application.
Can the FPC be cut or sharply folded?
No. Mount it on a clean non-metallic surface, route the cable gently and do not cut, crease or trim the radiating element.
How many antennas are supplied?
One antenna is supplied in the model selected.
