Wiring & getting started

  1. Check the rail links.

    For normal use, confirm both fitted 0R links select 3V3.

  2. Match the module orientation.

    Rotate the ESP32-S3 SuperMini so its USB-C connector faces the carrier battery connector. Confirm the 5V, GND and 3V3 pads align with the 3 x 3 power block, then seat all 18 pins evenly.

  3. Measure before connecting a peripheral.

    Power the module with no peripheral attached and check each red VCC row against a black GND pin. An unmodified board should read about 3.3 V.

  4. Connect signal, power and ground.

    Left adapter labels 0 to 5 are row labels, not ESP32 GPIO numbers. Use the datasheet pin map when assigning pins in firmware.

Note: This carrier is not a lithium battery charger. Use a protected single-cell battery, a separate suitable charger and verify connector polarity. The BAT-selected rail follows battery voltage and may exceed 3.3 V.

No. This carrier is wired for the 18-edge-pin ESP32-S3 SuperMini. The ESP32-S3 Zero uses a different pin arrangement.
Is the ESP32-S3 SuperMini included?
No. The listing includes one TZT expansion board with fitted sockets and headers. The ESP32-S3 SuperMini module, battery and leads are not included.
Can the board charge a lithium battery?
No. The carrier has no lithium charging circuit. Use a protected single-cell battery with a separate suitable charger and verify connector polarity.
What do adapter labels 0 to 5 mean?
They are carrier row labels, not GPIO numbers. With the SuperMini installed in the documented orientation, they map to GPIO8 through GPIO13.
What voltage are the VCC rows?
Both fitted 0R links select 3.3 V by default. A BAT-selected rail follows the connected battery voltage, so meter the rail before connecting a peripheral.
