Wiring & getting started

  1. Disconnect the power

Make sure the circuit is fully isolated before cutting the panel or connecting the switch.

  2. Prepare the panel opening

Make a clean 20mm round opening and remove sharp edges that could damage wiring.

  3. Connect the switched conductor

Connect the supply side to one terminal and the load side to the other using insulated 4.8mm connectors or suitable soldered leads.

  4. Snap in and test

Press the switch into the panel until both retaining clips engage, then check ON/OFF operation before final assembly.

Note: This SPST switch disconnects one conductor only. Mains wiring must use a suitable enclosure, insulation and strain relief, and should be completed by a suitably qualified person.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What size panel opening does this switch need?
It is designed for a 20mm round panel cut-out. Remove burrs before fitting so the retaining clips can seat cleanly.
Is the switch illuminated?
No. These are non-illuminated ON/OFF rocker switches with I and O position markings.
What circuit does it switch?
The two terminals form a latching SPST contact. Wire the conductor you want to switch through the two terminals.
What are the electrical ratings?
The stock is marked 6A at 250VAC and 10A at 125VAC, with a T85 temperature marking. Use appropriate derating and safe wiring practices for the load and installation.
Which colours are available?
Choose red, black or white. The red and black versions use a black body; the white version has a white body and actuator.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
