The KN3C-101 is a metal SPST toggle switch rated at 15A 250VAC — enough for mains-voltage panel switching and heavy DC loads. A rubber waterproof boot seals the lever, and the threaded barrel and locking nut give a secure, professional-looking panel mount in a 12mm hole. Solid metal construction throughout.

Panel mounting guide
- Drill a 12mm hole
Use a step drill bit or chassis punch for a clean hole in your panel or enclosure.
- Fit the rubber boot
Slide the rubber waterproof boot over the toggle lever before inserting the switch into the panel.
- Insert and secure
Push the switch through from the front and thread the locking nut from the rear. Tighten firmly by hand then snug with pliers — don't over-torque.
- Wire the terminals
Solder your wires to the solder lugs. For mains voltage, use appropriately rated wire and sleeving. Observe all applicable electrical regulations.
Common questions
Is this rated for NZ mains voltage (230VAC)?
Yes. The switch is rated at 250VAC, which covers New Zealand's 230VAC mains supply. 15A rating is suitable for most residential and light commercial switching applications.
What's SPST?
Single Pole, Single Throw — two terminals, two positions (on and off). The simplest type of toggle switch. Current flows between the two terminals in the on position and is interrupted in the off position.
Is the boot actually waterproof?
The rubber boot is splash-resistant rather than fully submersible. It will handle rain and moisture on an outdoor panel, but is not rated for immersion.
Will it work for 12V DC automotive use?
Yes — the 15A 250VAC rating well covers 12V and 24V DC switching for automotive and marine applications.
Safety note: Mains voltage work should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NZ electrical regulations. This switch is rated for use at mains voltage — ensure all wiring is properly insulated, fused and terminated.
