How to use it
- Screw in the male stud
Thread the 4mm male end into a tapped hole in your chassis, panel or another standoff.
- Set your board on top
The hex body lifts the PCB clear of the surface and holds it at an even height.
- Fix from above
Run an M2 screw down into the female end, or stack another male-female standoff to build up height.
- Nip it up
The hex body gives a spanner or pliers a grip so you can hold it while you tighten. Keep it firm, brass threads do not need heavy force.
Common questions
What do the two numbers mean?
The first number is the hex body length in mm, which is the gap the spacer sets (5, 10 or 20mm). The second is the male thread length, 4mm, which is the stud that screws into a hole or another standoff. So M2 x 10+4 is a 10mm body with a 4mm stud, 14mm overall.
Is this male-female or female-female?
Male-female. One end has a 4mm male M2 stud, the other end has a female M2 thread. That lets you screw it into a base and take an M2 screw or another standoff on top.
Can I stack them for a taller gap?
Yes. The male stud of one threads into the female end of the next, so you can chain male-female standoffs and mix sizes to reach the height you need.
What screws do I need with them?
Standard M2 screws fit the female end. The male stud is a straight M2 thread that suits an M2 tapped hole or a matching M2 female standoff or nut.
Will brass corrode?
Brass is corrosion resistant and holds up well indoors and inside enclosures. It also has a little natural give, so it seats nicely without cracking like some plastics can.
