Nylon insert lock nuts in M3, M4 and M5 for fastenings that see vibration or movement. The 304 stainless steel body resists corrosion, and the nylon insert grips the bolt thread so the nut stays put without a spring washer or thread locker.

  2. Start from the metal-thread side

Start the metal threads by hand before using a tool.

  3. Engage the nylon insert

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

Which size do I need?
Match the nut to your bolt: M3 for 3 mm screws, M4 for 4 mm and M5 for 5 mm. All three are standard metric coarse thread, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.8 mm pitch.
Which side goes onto the bolt first?
Start from the metal-thread side. The bolt then enters the nylon insert, which creates the locking resistance.
How many nuts will I receive?
Each size is sold per nut with a minimum of 10. Your cart quantity is the number of nuts you receive, and volume discounts start at 25.
Can a nylon insert lock nut be reused?
Inspect it first. Replace it if the threads or insert are damaged, or if it no longer gives noticeable resistance when you thread it on.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
