Wiring & getting started

  1. Disconnect power

Do all continuity checks, mounting and soldering with the circuit de-energised.

  2. Find common

On this stock, the centre lug is common. Confirm it with a continuity meter before final wiring.

  3. Map both positions

Move the lever each way. Common should connect to one outer lug, then the other, with no centre-off position.

  4. Mount and connect

Use a 6mm nominal panel hole, secure the hardware without crushing the panel, then insulate the finished joints.

Note: One SPDT switch cannot reverse a two-wire DC motor because it cannot reverse both conductors. Use a DPDT switch or a suitable motor driver. Have mains wiring specified and completed by a licensed electrician.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
