Super bright 5mm water-clear through-hole LED diodes, available in red and green. Choose your quantity and colour from the variant selector. Focused, intense beam from a transparent lens — standard 5mm DIP footprint compatible with breadboards, PCBs, and panel mounts.

  • 5mm DIP through-hole, breadboard ready
  • Water-clear (transparent) lens
  • Super bright, focused beam
  • 20mA forward current, 120°+ viewing angle
  • 100,000-hour rated service life
  • Available in single, 10, 25, or 50 pack
  • Every batch sample-tested before dispatch

Quick Start

1
Identify polarity

The longer leg is the anode (+). The shorter leg, or the side with a flat on the body, is the cathode (−).

2
Choose your resistor

Always use a current-limiting resistor. See the Resistor Guide tab for values by supply voltage and colour.

3
Wire anode → resistor → supply

Connect: Supply (+) → Resistor → LED anode → LED cathode → GND.

4
Select your variant

Choose your colour and pack size from the variant selector before adding to cart.

Please note: Always use a current-limiting resistor — connecting directly to a supply without one will instantly burn out the LED. Need quantities above 50? Contact us for bulk pricing.

🔴 Red — Forward Voltage 1.8–2.2V
Supply Voltage Resistor Value
3.3V 68 – 100 Ω
5V 150 – 220 Ω
9V 390 Ω

Common Questions

Which leg is the anode (positive)?

The longer leg is the anode (+) and the shorter leg is the cathode (−). If the legs have been trimmed, look for the flat edge on the LED body — the flat side indicates the cathode.

Do I always need a resistor?

Yes — always use a current-limiting resistor. Connecting an LED directly to a power supply will exceed the 20mA forward current and burn it out almost instantly. See the Resistor Guide tab for recommended values.

Which pack size should I choose?

A single or 10-pack is ideal for a quick project or to try the product. A 25 or 50-pack suits ongoing builds, classroom use, or stocking up — the per-LED price drops as you go up in quantity.

Can I order larger quantities?

Yes — contact us directly for bulk pricing on quantities above 50.

Why buy from NZN

International prices. None of the international wait.

We're a small Kiwi-owned shop, and we stock the same boards and parts you'd usually order from overseas, for about the same price. The only real difference is they ship from Te Awamutu, so you get them in a few days instead of waiting weeks.

Run by Kiwis, here in Te Awamutu

We're NZ owned and operated, and every order is picked, packed and sent from our place in Te Awamutu, Waikato.

Get it in days, not weeks

Order before 12pm and it ships the same day. No waiting three to six weeks for a parcel to crawl over from overseas.

Low prices are the goal

As a maker myself, I want New Zealand to have a genuine low-price local option for electronics, not overpriced shelves or a long wait on an international parcel.

Checked, and easy to sort if it's not right

We test things before they go out, and if something's off you've got 30 day returns, a 12 month warranty and a real person in NZ to email.

Packed and sent by a fellow maker, right here in Te Awamutu.
