A kit of radial aluminium electrolytic capacitors in 24 values from 0.1µF to 1000µF, rated 10V to 50V and 105°C, sorted by value into a clear 24-compartment case. It covers decoupling and smoothing for Arduino, ESP32 and hobby projects, bulk caps for motor and servo supplies, and the common low-voltage sizes on TV, monitor, audio and game console boards. Every can is printed with its value and voltage.

What's in the box

1×
Electrolytic capacitor assortment, 24 values

Sorted by value into a clear 24-compartment case with a snap-shut lid. The case is plain, with no label.

Great for

Decoupling an Arduino or ESP32 regulator with 10µF and 100µF caps
Bulk capacitance on a servo, motor or LED strip supply with 470µF to 1000µF
Replacing low-voltage caps on TV, monitor, audio and game console boards
555 timer and RC timing experiments with 1µF to 100µF
Audio coupling between stages with 1µF to 47µF
Stocking a school, club or maker-space parts drawer

Wiring & getting started

  1. Find the negative lead

The stripe with minus signs marks the negative lead, which is also the shorter one. Fitting an electrolytic backwards can damage it.

  2. Pick the value and voltage

Choose a voltage rating comfortably above your circuit, ideally 1.5 times or more. Any cap here suits a 5V rail; a 12V rail needs a 25V or 50V cap; on 24V use only caps printed 50V.

  3. Fit and solder

The radial leads drop into a breadboard or 0.1in protoboard. Line the stripe up with the negative pad, then solder and trim.

  4. Put spares back

Return each cap to its own compartment so the values stay sorted for next time.

Note: Values marked * are listed as the kit is laid out and we are still confirming them against our stock, so read the value and voltage printed on the can before fitting it. Can colours and makers vary between compartments, can sizes are approximate, and caps can shift between compartments in transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What values and voltages are in the kit?
24 values: 0.1µF, 0.22µF, 0.47µF, 1µF, 2.2µF, 3.3µF and 4.7µF at 50V; 10µF at 25V and 50V; 22µF at 16V and 25V; 33µF at 16V; 47µF at 10V, 25V and 50V; 100µF at 16V and 25V; 220µF at 10V and 25V; 330µF at 25V; 470µF at 10V and 16V; 680µF at 16V; and 1000µF at 10V or 16V. The description lists the can size for each, and every can is printed with its value and voltage.
Which voltage rating should I use?
Pick a rating comfortably above the highest voltage in your circuit, ideally 1.5 times or more. Every cap in the kit suits a 5V rail. On 12V use a 25V or 50V cap. On 24V use only caps printed 50V. A higher rating than you need is always fine.
Will they fit my board?
They are radial through-hole cans with two leads. The small values are about 4mm across and 7mm tall, the mid values 5 or 6mm across and 11mm tall, 330µF to 680µF about 8 x 12mm, and 1000µF about 10mm across and 16mm tall. Check the footprint diameter and the height above the board if space is tight.
Can I use these to recap a TV, monitor or power supply?
Yes for the low-voltage caps on those boards, up to 1000µF and 50V. Replace like with like: the same capacitance and the same or a higher voltage, read off the can. Mains-side caps and anything rated above 50V are not in this kit.
Which lead is negative?
The lead under the stripe with minus signs printed down the can. It is also the shorter lead. If the leads have been trimmed, go by the stripe.
Why are the cans different colours?
The values come from more than one maker, so sleeve colours differ between compartments: black, teal and green. Colour means nothing electrically; go by the value and voltage printed on each can.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
