Wiring & getting started
- Check the fit with power disconnected
Match the male tab's width and thickness to 6.35 x 0.8 mm. Select wire with a conductor cross-section of 0.5-1.5 mm² and confirm its insulation fits the sleeve.
- Prepare the wire and crimping tool
Use a tool and die intended for insulated terminals and your wire size. Strip to the wire-barrel length without cutting strands, then insert the conductor fully.
- Crimp and inspect
Crimp the wire barrel according to the tool instructions. Check for escaped strands, damaged insulation or a distorted receptacle. Confirm that the wire is secure and the terminal seats firmly on the tab.
- Protect the exposed contact
The metal receptacle remains uncovered. Fit suitable insulation or an enclosure where it could touch adjacent conductors or be touched during use. Disconnect power before fitting or removing the terminal.
