Brass — Best thermal conductivity, fast heating, most versatile. The standard choice for PLA, ABS, TPU, and PA.
Hardened Steel — Required for abrasive filaments (carbon fibre, glow-in-the-dark, metal-fill, wood-fill). Brass wears rapidly with these materials — hardened steel is the correct choice. Rated to 400°C.

Common Questions
How is this different from the MakerBot MK8 Variant listing?
This listing uses the standard 6mm hex head found on modern MK8 nozzles and requires a standard 6mm spanner. The MakerBot MK8 Variant listing uses an older 8mm hex head design. Both are fully MK8-thread compatible — the difference is just the head size and available size range.
How do I swap the nozzle safely?
Always change nozzles while the hotend is hot (around 200–230°C). Hold the heater block firmly, unscrew the old nozzle, and thread in the new one. Tighten snugly while hot — do not over-tighten cold, as this can crack the heater block.
Please note: Select your required material and tip size from the variant selector. Not all size/material combinations may be in stock — check the variant list before ordering.
