The MPD1.25-156 is a red male bullet crimp connector with a 4 mm bullet and a slotted spring tip. It pushes into a matching 4 mm female bullet, such as a red FRD1.25-156, to make a joint you can pull apart later. The red sleeve covers the crimp barrel and suits wire from 0.5 to 1.5 mm².

Wiring & getting started

  1. Check the sizes with power off

Use wire with a conductor of 0.5 to 1.5 mm² and check that its insulation fits the red sleeve. The female half must be a 4 mm bullet of the same series.

  2. Strip and crimp

Use a crimping tool and die made for insulated terminals and your wire size. Strip to the length of the wire barrel without cutting strands, push the conductor fully in, then crimp the red barrel.

  3. Inspect and join

Check for loose strands or a split sleeve and give the wire a firm tug. Push the bullet fully into the female until the sleeves meet.

  4. Keep the bullet covered

The bullet is bare metal. Put it on the side of the circuit that is not live when unplugged, usually the load side, and cover the joint if it could touch other conductors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What does this male bullet plug into?
A matching 4 mm female bullet of the same series, such as a red FRD1.25-156. We don't stock the red female at the moment, so check your existing female is a 4 mm bullet before ordering.
What wire size suits it?
Wire with a conductor of 0.5 to 1.5 mm². Check that the wire insulation fits inside the red sleeve and that your crimp die suits the wire.
What is the slot in the tip for?
It lets the tip squeeze slightly as it goes into the female, which keeps the joint tight so it doesn't fall out.
Is the bullet insulated?
No. The red sleeve covers only the crimp barrel. Fit the male on the side that is not live when the joint is pulled apart, and cover the joint if it could touch other conductors.
Do I need a crimping tool?
Yes. Use a crimper with a die for insulated terminals, usually the red position. Pliers squash the sleeve and give a weak joint.
Does a quantity of one mean one connector?
Yes, one unit is one male connector. The minimum order is 5, with discounts at 10, 20 and 30.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
