Wiring & getting started

  1. Select the trigger

With power off, set each H/L jumper to H for high-level triggering or L for low-level triggering.

  2. Power the board

Connect a regulated 3.3V DC supply to DC+ and DC-. Share DC- with the controller ground and connect its signal to the appropriate IN terminal. Supply the board from a power rail, never directly from a GPIO pin.

  3. Test before adding the load

Keep contact terminals disconnected. Apply the selected input state and check the click, indicator and COM-to-NO continuity. The untriggered state should connect COM to NC.

  4. Connect the load

Turn power off and wire a small low-voltage DC load through COM and NO or NC. Recheck the required power-up state before using the circuit unattended.

Note: The contact ratings printed on the relay describe the fitted component, not a certified rating for the assembled board. Use low-voltage DC for prototyping and keep exposed terminals protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

Is 3.3V the supply voltage or only the signal voltage?
It is the module supply voltage. Connect 3.3V DC to DC+ and DC-. Select the input trigger mode with the jumper and verify compatibility with your controller before adding a load.
What do NO, COM and NC mean?
COM is the common contact. It connects to NC while the relay is released and to NO while the relay is energised. The contacts switch a separately supplied load circuit.
Does the optocoupler make the complete installation electrically isolated?
The board contains an optocoupler input, but that alone does not establish complete system isolation. Wiring, shared supplies, clearances and the load circuit all matter.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
