This is the everyday 608 bearing, the same 8 x 22 x 7mm size you will find in skateboard wheels, 3D printers and just about any project that needs something to spin freely. It is rated to ABEC-7, so it runs smooth and true, and it turns up pre-greased with metal shields already fitted, ready to drop straight in. Sold as 608Z or 608ZZ, which are the same bearing (more on that just below).
- ABEC-7 rated for a smooth, true spin
- Standard 8 x 22 x 7mm size, 8mm bore
- Metal shields keep dust and grit out
- Pre-greased and ready to install
- Hardened carbon steel races
- Fits skateboards, scooters and skates
- Great for 3D printers, motors and rollers
- One of the most common bearing sizes made
608Z or 608ZZ?
They are the same bearing. The Z means one metal shield and the ZZ means a shield on both sides. We stock both and send whichever is on hand, and for normal use they perform exactly the same.

Common questions
608Z or 608RS, which should I get?
The Z version has metal shields. They run a little freer and suit higher speeds, but they do not seal out dust and water as well. The RS version has rubber seals that keep muck out better, at the cost of a touch more drag. For skateboards and general use either one is fine. Go RS if things get wet or dirty, and Z if you want the smoothest spin in a clean setup.
What does ABEC-7 actually mean?
ABEC is a precision scale for bearings, and a higher number means tighter manufacturing tolerances. ABEC-7 sits near the top of that scale, so you get smoother, more consistent running and less wobble than a cheaper ABEC-1 or ABEC-3 bearing.
Is 608Z really the same as 608ZZ?
Yes. The only difference is one metal shield versus two. Both are stocked and sent at random, and for everyday use they behave identically.
Can I clean and re-grease it?
You can. Pop the metal shields off carefully with a thin pick or blade, wash the old grease out with a solvent, let it dry fully, then repack it with fresh bearing grease and click the shields back on.
Good to know: carbon steel is not the right pick for wet or salty conditions, so grab a stainless version if that is your use case. Measurements are taken by hand, so please allow a millimetre or two of tolerance. Shipped from our stock in Te Awamutu.
