Wiring & getting started

  1. Confirm the fit with power disconnected

Match the terminal to 1.5-2.5 mm² / 16-14 AWG wire and M5 fastening hardware before starting.

  2. Prepare the conductor

Strip only as much insulation as the crimp-tool instructions require. Keep the strands together and insert the conductor fully into the barrel.

  3. Crimp and inspect

Use a tool and die intended for insulated terminals and the selected wire size. Check the sleeve for damage, confirm no strands have escaped and perform a gentle tug test.

  4. Fit the ring

Place the ring over the M5 stud, screw or post and tighten the hardware according to the equipment instructions. Check clearance before restoring power.

Note: 27 A is the supplied maximum-current specification for this terminal variant. Actual safe current depends on the conductor, crimp quality, temperature, installation and the rest of the wiring system.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
