What's in the box

KCD4 rocker switch

One switch in your selected colour.

Wiring & getting started

  1. Check the replacement fit

Compare the selected colour's terminal layout, panel opening, housing depth and connector clearance with your original switch before cutting or modifying a panel.

  2. Identify the connections

Isolate the switch from all power and wiring. Check the switched terminal pairs with a continuity meter in each rocker position. Confirm any lamp connection and supply voltage before energising it.

  3. Install for the circuit

Use correctly rated insulated terminals, wiring, an enclosure and strain relief. Have mains installation completed by a suitably qualified person.

Note: The AC current marking does not establish a DC, motor or high-inrush load rating. Match the switch to the equipment's electrical requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

Does the switch stay in its selected position?
Yes. This is a maintained ON/OFF rocker. It stays in the position you select until you press it again.
Do the red and green switches have the same terminals?
No. The red switch has six blade terminals and the green has four. Choose the colour and terminal arrangement that match your equipment.
Does one order include both colours?
No. Each unit is one switch in the red or green colour you select.
Can I copy the wiring from another KCD4 switch?
Check the contact layout first. KCD4 switches are sold with different switching arrangements. With the switch isolated from power, identify the switched pairs in each position and confirm any lamp connection before installation.
Can I use the 40A marking as a DC or motor rating?
No. The housing marking is 40A 250VAC. Select a switch with ratings that cover your supply, load type and starting current.
Will it fit my existing panel opening?
Compare the opening, panel thickness, housing depth and terminal clearance with your original switch. Check a sample before cutting a production panel.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
