The PBDD1.25-250 is a red piggyback spade crimp terminal that lets you connect two wires to one 6.3 mm male tab. Its female receptacle pushes onto the tab, and a second 6.3 mm male tab on its back takes another female spade, such as our FDD1.25-250 female spade terminals. To add a plug-apart joint in a single wire instead, use our MDD1.25-250 male spade terminals with the FDD.

Sold individually. Minimum order: 2 terminals. Your selected quantity is supplied together.

Great for

Running a second wire from a switch or relay tab that has only one terminal
Teeing a 12V accessory into an existing spade connection
Adding a feed to a fuse holder or lamp without cutting the old wire

Wiring & getting started

  1. Check the sizes with power off

The device tab must be 6.3 x 0.8 mm. Use wire with a conductor of 0.5 to 1.5 mm² and check that its insulation fits the red sleeve.

  2. Strip and crimp

Use a crimping tool and die made for insulated terminals and your wire size. Strip to the length of the wire barrel without cutting strands, push the conductor fully in, then crimp the red barrel. Tug test the wire.

  3. Fit both connections

Push the receptacle fully onto the device tab, then push the second female spade onto the piggyback tab. Both wires now share the device tab, so make sure that tab and its circuit suit the combined current.

  4. Adjust and cover

The piggyback tab is angled to give the second terminal room. If it needs to clear a nearby part, bend it gently once, as repeated bending can crack it. The receptacle and tab are bare metal, so cover them if they could touch other conductors or be touched while powered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What is a piggyback spade terminal for?
It lets two wires share one 6.3 mm male tab. The receptacle pushes onto the device tab, and the tab on its back takes a second female spade.
What tab size does it fit?
A 6.3 x 0.8 mm male tab, also sold as 6.35 mm, 1/4 inch or 250 series. Check both the width and the thickness on the device.
What plugs into the piggyback tab?
Any 6.3 mm female spade. Our FDD1.25-250 red female spade terminals fit it.
What wire size suits it?
Wire with a conductor of 0.5 to 1.5 mm². Check that the insulation fits inside the red sleeve and that your crimp die suits the wire.
Can I add a second circuit to any tab?
Only if the tab and the circuit behind it can carry both loads together, because both wires feed through the one device tab. If in doubt, run the extra load from its own fused supply instead.
Does a quantity of one mean one terminal?
Yes, one unit is one terminal. The minimum order is 2, with a discount at 4 and 8.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
