Wiring & getting started

Check your supply
Use a DC supply within 3-12V. Do not connect one LED directly to 24V; use a DC step-down converter to bring a 24V system within range first.
Connect the leads
Red to positive (+), black to negative (-), and insulate the joins. No separate resistor is needed. Several LEDs can run in parallel from the same supply.
Power on
Brightness rises with voltage. Red, yellow and orange light well from about 3V; blue, green, white, pink, UV and the RGB options need around 5V or more to look bright. From an Arduino, a 5V output pin can drive one LED directly.

Do these LEDs need an external resistor?

No. Each LED has its own series resistor built into the lead, so one LED connects straight to any DC supply from 3V to 12V. Red is positive (+) and black is negative (-).

Can I run one from an Arduino or ESP32?

Yes. A 5V output pin can drive one LED directly, because the built-in resistor keeps the current low at 5V. On a 3.3V pin, red, yellow and orange light well; blue, green, white, pink, UV and RGB are dim, so switch a 5-12V supply with a transistor for those.

Can I connect one to 24V?

No. Keep each LED between 3V and 12V DC. On a 24V system, use a DC step-down converter to bring the supply to 12V or less first.

What is the difference between RGB Fast Flash and RGB Slow Flash?

Both change colour on their own, with no controller needed. Fast Flash jumps quickly between colours, while Slow Flash cycles more gently. Wire them like any other colour, red to positive and black to negative.

What is the UV option good for?

It gives a violet UV glow that makes fluorescent paint, fabrics and highlighters stand out in displays and props. It is a decorative indicator LED, not a curing or inspection light.

How many LEDs do I get?

The price is for one pre-wired LED. Choose a colour and enter the quantity you need; the volume discount applies automatically from 5 and 10 of the same colour.
