This is the brass flanged nut that pairs with a standard T8 lead screw, the same one used on the Z axis of most Ender and CR-10 style 3D printers. It runs a Tr8x8 thread, which means a 2mm pitch and an 8mm lead across four starts, so the carriage moves a full 8mm for every turn of the screw. The round flange has four M3 mounting holes that bolt straight onto a printer or CNC frame, and the brass body keeps friction and wear low for a long, quiet service life.

  • Fits standard T8 lead screws (8mm, Tr8x8)
  • 2mm pitch, 8mm lead, 4-start thread
  • Moves 8mm per full turn of the screw
  • Machined brass for low friction and wear
  • Round flange with four M3 mounting holes
  • Around 22mm flange, 15mm tall, 8mm bore
  • Drops into Ender 3 and CR-10 Z axes
  • Great for CNC and DIY linear motion

Check your lead before you buy

T8 nuts come in a few different leads, and they are not interchangeable. This is the common 2mm pitch, 8mm lead (4-start) version, so the nut travels 8mm for every full turn of the screw. It will not match a 2mm lead or 4mm lead screw, so please check what your machine uses first. The stock Ender 3 and CR-10 Z axis uses this exact Tr8x8 spec.

Common questions

Will this fit my Ender 3 or CR-10?

Yes. The stock Z axis on the Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3 V2 and CR-10 uses a T8 Tr8x8 screw, which is 2mm pitch and 8mm lead, and that is exactly what this nut is made for. If you have swapped in a different lead screw at some point, check its spec first.

What is the difference between pitch and lead?

Pitch is the gap between two neighbouring threads. Lead is how far the nut actually travels in one full turn. This screw is 4-start, so the 2mm pitch adds up to an 8mm lead, meaning a single turn moves the carriage 8mm. That is faster travel than a single-start 2mm screw, which only moves 2mm per turn.

Does it remove backlash on its own?

No, this is a standard solid nut, so it does not cancel backlash by itself. If you need zero backlash you can run two of these against a spring, or fit a dedicated anti-backlash nut. For most printing and light CNC work a single nut is perfectly fine.

Brass or plastic (POM), which is better?

Brass handles heat and load better and lasts longer, which is why it is the usual choice for a printer Z axis. POM runs a touch quieter and is self-lubricating, but it wears faster under load. For a Z axis that carries weight, brass is the safe pick.

Good to know: measurements are taken by hand, so please allow a millimetre or two of tolerance. Keep the screw lightly greased for the smoothest, quietest motion. Shipped from our stock in Te Awamutu.
