KCD11 10 x 15 mm mini rocker switch

Black, non-illuminated, two-lug SPST version.

A power switch on a small 3D-printed project box
Turning an LED strip or fan on and off

Front panels with little spare room

Wiring & getting started

  1. Cut the panel opening

Cut a rectangle that fits the body under the 15 x 10.5 mm bezel. Start slightly small and file until the switch clicks in and the clips hold it firmly.

  2. Connect the switched wire

Connect one side of the wire being switched to each lug by soldering it to the lug. The lugs are not polarised.

  3. Check the switch

Press I to close the contact and O to open it. Isolate power before checking or changing the wiring.

Note: Only AC ratings are marked on this switch. For 230 V mains loads stay within 3 A, switch the active conductor, use insulated connections and an enclosure, and have mains installation done by a suitably qualified person.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What can this switch handle?
It is marked 3 A at 250 VAC and 6 A at 125 VAC. On NZ 230 V mains keep the load within 3 A. No DC rating is marked on the switch.
Is this the KCD11 or the larger KCD1?
This is the small KCD11 with a 15 x 10.5 mm face. For a 21 x 15 mm face and a 6 A 250 VAC marking, choose our KCD1 21 x 15 mm rocker switch.
How are the two lugs wired?
Solder one side of the wire being switched to each lug. The lugs are not polarised. Press I to close the contact and O to open it.
What size panel hole does it need?
Cut a rectangle that fits the body under the 15 x 10.5 mm bezel, starting slightly small. File it out until the switch clicks in and the side clips hold it firmly. Trial-fit one switch before cutting several panels.
Does it light up?
No. It is a non-illuminated black rocker with white I and O markings.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
