Wiring & getting started

  1. Match the load and indicator supply

Use the 16 A at 250 V AC contact rating when selecting the switch for an AC circuit. Check the actual load, including inrush, and confirm the lamp supply before connecting an illuminated option. The contact rating does not identify the lamp voltage.

  2. Choose the correct panel cutout

The opening depends on panel thickness. Use the three cutout ranges in the technical datasheet, check the fit, and select matching insulated connectors for the 6.3 x 0.8 mm blades.

  3. Identify the terminals with power disconnected

Check the two contact pairs by continuity before wiring. The circuit numbers in the datasheet do not assign physical terminal positions. For mains equipment, have a licensed electrical worker select, install and test the replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most.

What is the switch rating and contact arrangement?
The contact rating is 16 A at 250 V AC. This is a four-pin DPST switch: two contact pairs open and close together between OFF and ON. Do not treat the AC contact rating as a DC or motor-load rating.
Which colours are illuminated?
Green, yellow, blue and red are illuminated. Black is non-illuminated. Confirm the lamp supply before connecting an illuminated option; the 250 V AC contact rating does not identify the lamp voltage.
Do I receive all the switches shown in the group photo?
No. The price is for one switch in the colour selected on the product page. Select the colour you want before adding it to your cart.
What panel opening does this switch need?
The bezel is 30.5 x 25 mm. For 0.70-1.25 mm panels, the opening is 28.9-29.1 x 21.9-22.1 mm. For 1.25-2.00 mm panels, use 29.1-29.2 x 21.9-22.1 mm. For 2.00-3.00 mm panels, use 29.2-29.3 x 21.9-22.1 mm. Check the dimensioned datasheet and fit before cutting the final panel.
How should I identify the terminals?
With all power disconnected, check which two pairs switch together using a continuity tester. The circuit shows contacts 2 to 1 and 5 to 6, but those numbers are not a physical rear-terminal map. Do not assign live, neutral or lamp connections from position alone. Use a licensed electrical worker for mains installation.

Why Buy from NZN

Useful parts, fair prices and someone local to help.

I'm Lukas, an engineering student and maker based in Te Awamutu. NZN grew out of a CNC build that dragged on for months because every missing cable, bolt or electronic part meant another overseas order. I started the shop so Kiwi makers can spend more time building and less time waiting for the next parcel.
