A 600-piece metal film resistor kit covering 30 of the values you actually reach for, from 10Ω right up to 1M, 20 pieces of each. They are 1/4W (0.25W) axial through-hole resistors with tight ±1% tolerance, better temperature stability and lower noise than standard carbon film types. Sorted and labelled in a reusable case so you can grab the value you need without digging through a drawer. Handy to have on the bench for prototyping, repairs and general electronics work. Held in NZ stock and shipped fast from our Te Awamutu workshop, so you are not waiting weeks on an overseas parcel.

Using these resistors

  1. Identify the value

Read the colour bands (5-band code for 1% resistors) or check the labelled compartment in the case, and confirm with a multimeter if unsure.

  2. Check the power rating

These are rated 1/4W (0.25W). Confirm your circuit will not dissipate more than that through the resistor.

  3. Fit and solder

Axial leads suit breadboards, protoboard and PCBs. There is no polarity to worry about, so either lead can go either way. Bend to the pad pitch and solder in place.

  4. Store the spares

Drop the rest back into the labelled case so your values stay sorted for next time.

Common questions

What does the kit include?

600 metal film resistors across 30 values from 10Ω to 1M, 20 pieces of each, sorted in a labelled storage case. See the "What's in the kit" table above for the full value list.

What is the tolerance?

±1%, which is tighter than the ±5% of standard carbon film resistors. That gives more predictable, repeatable results for voltage dividers and precision circuits.

What power rating are they?

1/4W (0.25W), which covers most hobby, prototyping and general repair circuits. Check your circuit's expected power dissipation before using them in higher-power applications.

Are they through-hole or SMD?

Through-hole, with axial leads on both ends. They suit breadboards, protoboard and hand-soldered PCBs, not surface-mount work.

Do resistors have polarity?

No. Unlike capacitors or diodes, resistors are not polarised, so either lead can go either way round.

Good to know: Values are marked with colour bands and the kit ships in a labelled case, so double-check with a multimeter if you are ever unsure. Stock proudly dispatched from Te Awamutu, New Zealand.

Why buy from NZN

International prices. None of the international wait.

We're a small Kiwi-owned shop, and we stock the same boards and parts you'd usually order from overseas, for about the same price. The only real difference is they ship from Te Awamutu, so you get them in a few days instead of waiting weeks.

Run by Kiwis, here in Te Awamutu

We're NZ owned and operated, and every order is picked, packed and sent from our place in Te Awamutu, Waikato.

Get it in days, not weeks

Order before 12pm and it ships the same day. No waiting three to six weeks for a parcel to crawl over from overseas.

Low prices are the goal

As a maker myself, I want New Zealand to have a genuine low-price local option for electronics, not overpriced shelves or a long wait on an international parcel.

Checked, and easy to sort if it's not right

We test things before they go out, and if something's off you've got 30 day returns, a 12 month warranty and a real person in NZ to email.

Packed and sent by a fellow maker, right here in Te Awamutu.
