This is the small brass fitting that lets a 4mm tube go into a 1/8 inch BSP port and stay there. Push the tube in, a ring of stainless teeth inside the collet bites onto it, and an O-ring further down seals against the outside of the tube. To get it back out you press the blue collar down and pull. No tools, and you can do it as many times as you like, which is the whole point when you are still moving things around on a build. The thread end is a tapered BSPT male, so it pulls tight as it winds in. It is an ordinary pneumatic one touch fitting, so it is equally at home on a compressor line, a small air cylinder, or routing PTFE tube on a Bowden printer. Sold as singles, so buy the number your machine actually needs.

  • Takes 4mm outside diameter tube, PTFE or air line
  • 1/8 inch BSPT male thread, tapered so it seals as it tightens
  • Push to connect, press the collar to release
  • Brass body with a nylon collet and stainless gripping ring
  • 18.9mm long overall, 14mm hex across the flats
  • Rated 0 to 1.0 MPa, about 145 psi
  • Reusable, connect and disconnect as often as you need
  • Sold as a single fitting

What's in the box

1x
PC4-01 push fit coupler

One assembled brass fitting with the collet, gripping ring, O-ring and release collar already in it. Tube and thread tape are not included - add the quantity your build needs.

Great for

Bowden tube runs on 3D printers
Filament dry boxes & feed tubes
Compressor & workshop air lines
Small pneumatic cylinders & valves
Airbrush & spray gun setups
Vacuum pickup & pick and place rigs

How to fit it

  1. Check the port

It needs to be 1/8 inch BSP female. Start the fitting by hand and make sure the thread picks up cleanly before you put a spanner near it.

  2. Seal the thread

Two or three wraps of PTFE tape on the male thread, wound the same way it screws in, then nip it up on the 14mm hex. Go easy if the port is plastic.

  3. Cut the tube square

Use a tube cutter or a sharp blade. A ragged or angled end will not seal against the O-ring and the joint will leak.

  4. Push it home

Push the tube in until it stops, then give it a tug to check the teeth have grabbed. To release, press the blue collar right down and pull the tube out.

Good to know: the pressure, vacuum and temperature figures above are the standard ratings for this style of push in fitting, not a certified figure for an individual part, so leave headroom on anything that matters. This one is 1/8 inch BSP and 4mm tube only - if your printer or manifold uses M6 or M10 you want a PC4-M6 or PC4-M10 instead, and 6mm tube needs a PC6 fitting. Thread tape and tube are not included. Every order is checked before it ships from our Te Awamutu stock.

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

What thread is on it?
A 1/8 inch BSP male thread, tapered (BSPT), so it tightens and seals as it winds in. That is the same thread most small pneumatic valves, manifolds and cylinders use. It is not interchangeable with the M6 or M10 threads on a PC4-M6 or PC4-M10, so check the port on your machine before ordering.
What tube does it take?
4mm outside diameter tube. PTFE (the white or clear stuff used on Bowden printers) and standard 4mm nylon or polyurethane air line both work. Cut the end square, otherwise it will not seal against the O-ring.
How do I get the tube back out?
Press the blue collar down against the body and pull the tube out at the same time. Pulling on its own just makes the stainless teeth grip harder. It is reusable, so you can connect and disconnect it as often as you need.
Do I need thread tape?
For air pressure, yes, a couple of wraps of PTFE tape on the male thread is the normal way to seal a BSPT fitting. Tape is not included. If you are only routing filament tube on a 3D printer there is no pressure to seal, so it is not needed.
What is it made of?
A brass body and hex, a nylon collet with a stainless steel gripping ring inside, a rubber O-ring seal on the tube bore, and a blue plastic release collar.
What pressure will it hold?
These are rated 0 to 1.0 MPa, roughly 145 psi, and down to about -100 kPa on vacuum, at 0C to 60C. Those are the standard ratings for this style of push in fitting rather than a certified figure for an individual part, so leave headroom on anything critical.
Will it fit my 3D printer?
Only if the port is 1/8 inch BSP. A lot of printers use M6 at the hotend and M10 on the extruder body, which need a PC4-M6 or PC4-M10 instead. Measure or check the manual before ordering, and note this suits 4mm OD tube either way.
