Common Questions
What does this clip actually do?
The retainer clip slides into the groove around the collet of a standard pneumatic fitting. It physically blocks the collet from releasing, so the PTFE tube cannot back out even under high retraction forces. Without it, aggressive retraction settings can gradually pull the tube loose, causing a gap between the tube end and nozzle — which leads to clogs and under-extrusion.
Is this the same as the coupler itself?
No — this is the retainer clip only, not the pneumatic coupler. It locks into an existing PC4-M6 or PC4-01 fitting. If you need the coupler itself, see our PC4-M6 Bowden Coupler listing.
How do I fit it?
With the PTFE tube fully seated in the fitting, slide the clip horizontally into the slot around the collet ring. It will snap into place and hold the collet down, preventing release. To remove, slide the clip out and press the collet as normal.
